Private house in Pelguranna
Year: 2023 spring semester (II year)
Typology: Private house
Location: Tallinn, Pelgulinn district
The concept for this single-family house, designed for the Pelguranna neighbourhood in North Tallinn, is inspired by the surrounding context of two-storey gabled houses built during the 20th century, as well as by the nearby sea.
To ensure the new building integrates harmoniously with its surroundings, the house has been designed with a maximum height of 9 metres, respecting the scale and character of the existing neighbourhood.

The house is distinguished by its multi-gabled roof and an exterior façade clad in timber shingles, giving the building a distinctive yet contextually appropriate architectural expression.
The design places strong emphasis on its proximity to the sea, with carefully positioned openings that frame views toward the water while capturing the changing qualities of daylight—from sunrise and midday light to the evening sunset.
